Physiotherapy
What is it?
Physiotherapy is a science-based healthcare profession concerned with human function, movement and maximising potential.
We use a physical approach to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being, whilst appreciating that everyone is different.
Generally most injuries get better on their own. If however the pain persists for longer, then it is likely that some form of intervention is needed. This intervention can take many forms and may be as simple as being given the appropriate exercises or a longer-term treatment plan. In most cases the longer you wait for treatment the longer the rehabilitation process.
As professional physiotherapists, we are trained to assess and diagnose problems in the joints and soft tissues of the body. We will carry out a comprehensive assessment and provide a treatment plan for your particular problem, aiming to give you the tools to return to full fitness.

What is Sports Massage?
Sports massage is a form of massage designed to influence the soft tissues of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia).

It is a great way to keep the body moving well, managing niggles and preventing them turning into a possible injury. It can also be used to aid recovery and training, particularly in those who exercise regularly.

However, you do not have to be a sports person to feel the benefits of sports massage. It can be wonderful for reducing stress and helping relaxation.

As physiotherapists we are well placed to provide sports massage alongside our physiotherapy treatments - allowing you to feel well looked after and in good hands.
